He attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, where he earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and psychology, along with his master's in physical therapy. He attended St. George's University in Grenada, Wisconsin, for medical school. He completed his pain medicine fellowship at Florida Spine Institute in Clearwater, Florida.
